With regard to items you have on loan, there is no need to worry. All items will be automatically renewed. Additionally, there are no late fines. We will be delighted to see you and your books back in our branches when we open again. Please contact your local Library Authority for local arrangements.
If you have a library card you can start reading e-books and listening to e-audio books straightaway, as explained here. If you don't have a library card, read on!
Library Cards Expiring
We have renewed all library cards that were due to expire in the near future so hopefully that won’t be a problem. If your card has expired please contact your local library authority or see our contact details below.
Due to the disruption of library services by Coronavirus (COVID-19), you do not need to visit your local library to join before being able to use online services listed at https://www.librariesireland.ie/elibrary
See our step-by-step guide.
Just fill out the online form. You'll get a temporary library number and you can set up a library PIN. With those, you'll be able to access the online services at www.librariesireland.ie/elibrary straightaway.
We have also received enquiries from borrowers who don’t have or can’t remember their PIN. You'll find instructions on how to create or reset your library PIN here.
If you have any queries or difficulty logging in or problems with your registration or PIN, please be sure to open a ticket or email: firstname.lastname@example.org and a member of the support team will do their best to get you up and running as soon as possible.
Please note: our support service is not available over the Christmas holidays.
You can also contact your local branch by email– they will do their best to help you.
